Dr. Mika Seppälä is a professor of computer-aided mathematics at the University of Helsinki and Professor of Mathematics at Florida State University. He was the Finnish representative in the Database Committee of the European Mathematical Council and later in the various Euromath projects (1984 – 1994). He is the secretary of the OpenMath Society and he was the coordinator of the first OpenMath project (1994 – 1996) to get community support. Seppälä has extensive experience in creating educational on-line materials for calculus.
